Thirteen years of figure skating taught me what my body could do. Pilates taught me what my mind could. The symmetry pulled me in — the precision, the control, the demand for full presence. But somewhere in the work, something else was happening. I wasn't just building strength. I was learning to quiet the noise. To stop the spiral. What Pilates gave me went far beyond the physical — and it has never stopped. Pilates doesn't just train your body. It changes how you think.
Pilates is an intelligent system. It trains coordination, awareness, and control at a neurological level. You are building strength, yes — but what you are really building is your brain. Your nervous system shifts from chaos to clarity.
Joseph Pilates certified Lolita San Miguel. Lolita San Miguel certified me. Lineage is where the method stays honest.
In 2016, I completed Lolita's Legacy 500-hour Teacher Training under Jennie Groom, Second Generation Pilates Teacher and Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master. I have continued my education with over 500 hours of study with Moses Urbano, Lori Coleman-Brown, Jerome Weinberg, Sanje Mayo, Blossom Leilani-Crawford, Mariano Dolagaray, Miguel Silva, Victoria Torrie-Capan, and Angela Leone. In 2021, I became a certified breathwork facilitator through the Holistic Health School of San Diego. After eight years teaching in a studio setting, I opened my own home studio in 2023, creating an intimate space dedicated to the full Classical system on authentic apparatus.
I hold an MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Cal Poly Pomona and a BS from UC Irvine. Pilates is not a trend or an aesthetic practice. It is a disciplined method of physical and mental conditioning — and that is exactly how I teach it.
